Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. By Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. The nintendo wii is to be launched on the 19th, i believe. I’ve been planning on hanging around my local walmart, which is a 24 hour one, until midnight, when it should be released. Does anyone know what’s gonig to happen? Will walmart close the doors for a bit, in anticipation, or will i just get to roam the store all night?
Check out RoosterTeeth.com for shorts a week early!
I am planning on purchasing a Nintendo Wii, I just want to get everyone’s opinion and rating about it. A little pros and cons about it will be very much appreciated too.
Please rate it from 1 to 5 : 1 as the lowest (bad) and 5(as the highest)
THANKS in advance!
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Reload from Mastiff Games for the Nintendo Wii. Reload is a shooting simulator. You’ll play this entire game without shooting a single enemy of any kind. It’s basically a glorified game of target practice, and every level presents you with different objectives and targets to annihilate. To the game’s credit, Reload is a very smooth shooter. Reload uses the Wii Remote’s pointer with pixel-perfect precision, letting you pop off headshots with the kind of ease you could never get from analog sticks. But at the end of the day, this is target practice. This is a game that never goes anywhere. It hinges on the enjoyability of pointing with the Wii Remote and shooting, and although it does that very well, other Wii shooters do it even better…and with enemies, levels and progression. This video review features video gameplay footage of Reload for the Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.
